CD Art & Juggling was created in 2022 by concert photographer Curt Dennis
And now I'm going to stop talking in third person. I'm Curt Dennis, I grew up in Conifer, learned filmmaking in London, and have been photographing for over a decade. During the pandemic, I left my day program job and decided it was finally time to turn my photography hobby into a career!
During that time, I fell in love with teaching. It forced me to keep my skills up to date; it allowed me to delete photos after work instead of sifting through hundreds deciding which to edit; and kids are brutally honest which means I can confidently say I'm not the worst photographer ever. I'm not the best, but definitely not the worst.
Now I run CD Art & Juggling, where I teach mainly kids - but also all ages - photography, screenwriting, and various other skills I went to school for. Before I teach each day, I write and direct my own scripts, and after I teach each day, I go photograph concerts around the Denver area.
As CD Art & Juggling grows and more teachers are added, rest assured all will fit into the two criteria I have: immense positivity and actively working in the industry.
Is the tattoo thing true?
Yes
During the summer of 2024, in order to get my screenwriting students to focus on their stories, I promised them that, if they made a cool enough character, I would get it tattooed on me. And sure enough, a few months later, I became the proud of owner of Super Donut and Donut Clown! And now, in all my screenwriting classes, as long as my students complete the criteria of:
*10 pages
*Saving the cat
*Conflict
I will get one of their characters tattooed on my leg.
(Why the leg? Because I already had a silly sleeve started when I realised my student's could come up with better characters than I could!)
